Invenium Viam is a Latin phrase meaning “I will find a path”. Circulus in Probando refers to circular arguments, Post Tenebras, Lux to light after darkness, and Dum Spiro Spero means “while I breathe, I hope”. These titles are suggestive of the sense of struggle that takes place as this powerful work develops.

Invenium Viam is the debut recording of virtuosic cello soloist, Inbal Megiddo, in collaboration with composers and electronic musicians Jorge Sosa and Dave Lisik. Inbal recently joined the faculty of the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington (where Dave Lisik has worked since early 2010). A native of Mexico City, Dr. Jorge Sosa is an electroacoustic, opera and chamber music composer currently residing in New York City. He has collaborated on several Rattle projects including Donated By Cantor Fitzgerald, Journey and Enceladus.

Inbal began her cello studies at the age of two, and gave her first performances a year later. At the age of six, she was a recipient of the America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship, under the patronage of Isaac Stern. She has performed in master classes with such artists as Janos Starker, Heinrich Schiff, and Michel Strauss, and has participated in the Manchester, Banff, Rolandseck (Bonn) and West-East Divan festivals as a soloist and chamber musician, where she performed in the master classes of Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman and Yuri Bashmet.

Inbal brings years of experience to her performances and teaching. Maestro Zubin Mehta describes her as “an extremely talented, very musical musician.” At her New York debut at the Lincoln Center, her playing was described as having “magical expression and technical expertise” and a “warm lustrous communicative way... sincerity personified!”
